RFID is better known as radio frequency identification. RFID is a term used for any technology that identifies products or objects based on radio waves. There are several different methods of identification; one of the most common methods is the use of serial numbers. Use of RFID on animals:
RFID is greatly used in the industry of research and conservation of fish and wildlife. For animals, the PIT tag is made use of. This tag does not alter the external appearance of the animal. It does not affect the growth rate or behavior or health or its predator susceptibility. It is a very reliable and effective method of identification among animals.
Use of RFID on plants:
All manufactures are being pressurized by the government to keep a track on their supplier materials and manufacturing production line assets etc. RFID is the solution to their problems and is being used on a large scale. The FDA has also endorsed this technology so that consumer and food product customers will see a different level of compliancy as the products reaches the various grocery stores.
